Prepare for Your Classic Car Road Trip

There is something special about being able to hit the road in a classic car. Not only will your car receive the admiring looks that it deserves, but it can bring you back to a different time. If you’re planning a road trip in your classic car, however, you do have to take a few considerations into account that you may not if it was your standard commuter car.

Classic Car Concerns

You do not drive your classic car all of the time. If you do not have a tune-up before the road trip, you may not know if there are any problems. When cars are in storage for long periods, their tires can develop flat spots. Likewise, rubber seals, belts and gaskets may break and brake pads may be worn down.

Classic Car Protections

Regular maintenance is one of the best ways that you can protect your vehicle. Besides, make sure that you have the appropriate insurance coverage. Do not use your standard auto insurance policy on classic cars. Classic cars tend to have a higher value and may require different repairs and restorations that other cars do not.

When it comes to any kind of road trip, preparation is key. Classic car trips take a lot of preparation, most of which are different from your typical preparations.
